Petra, Here in a badly weathered condition is the remains of a statue that included a Nabetean and a couple of camels. The Nabetean is visible from the waist down in the right forground. The camels are visible at their feet, and the one closest to the Nabetean at his belly. All the camels legs have eroded away. Note the water channel carved in behind the legs of the Nabetean and the camels.

Petra - Success - we finally make it to the Treasury - potentially mislabeled to some because it was not a bank or storehouse for gold but rather a depository for bodies and bones - a Tomb.

Petra - the Treasury. For it's age, the Treasure has held up remarkably well compared to other sandstone structures in this area.

Petra - Inside the Treasury. Note the beautiful colors of the sandstone that the Treasury has been cut into. This is all one big piece of sandstone. One bad swing of the hammer by the sandstone cutters and the memorial would be junk!
