BeerSheba was a favorite of Abraham and Issacc. They both lived here, and dug wells what sustained them and their flocks. Even today there are 2 major wells and 5 minor wells that are in the area and in use. BeerSheba was a major city in that it was the "sothern" reference point for many people (even Bbiblical) in the phrase "from Dan to Beersheba" (Example 2 Sam 3:10). 1000 years after Genesis 12, BeerSheeba is an important comertial and millitay outpost. |
